Hello and welcome!
My name is Tracey Capone and I am a self-taught photographer who moved to Chicago in 1999. About eight years ago, I left behind a 17 year corporate career to put my lifelong creative side to work, and I have never looked back.
Up until recently, I shared a studio space in the Rogers Park neighborhood of Chicago with my husband, painter Joe Smigielski, and our two weird, and highly entertaining cats, Jack and Charlie. In April of 2019, we said good bye to the city and moved to the beautiful suburb of Homewood, IL where we have a lot more space to spread our creative wings in.
I have had the privilege of seeing my work on HGTV, the local Chicago news, in the west elm blog, Sweet Paul Magazine, Time Out Chicago, and Midwest Living Magazine. My photography can be seen on the TV Land show, "Teachers," as well as on the NBC show, "Chicago PD." I am proud to have a current partnership, for select work, with Pottery Barn, and a previous partnership with IKEA as well as partnerships with several local businesses.
In addition to my online shop, I have my own retail space at the Andersonville Galleria, on the city's north side, where you can find select wood photo blocks and matted prints. I also participate in a number of local art festivals throughout the year, including the OOAK Show and Sale Chicago Spring and Winter shows. Find the current list of shows and festivals here.
